Each piece is a labor of love, meticulously handcrafted through the intricate slip casting technique. In the initial phase, we sculpt plaster molds by hand, creating the design of the object. These plaster forms are left to dry for a few weeks before the production of the items begins. To produce the objects, we prepare the grog beforehand with clay, pigments, and newspaper. Once fired, it is spread inside the plaster to achieve a unique and varied effect on each piece. We then pour a homemade blend of stoneware and porcelain into the mold and allow it to set for a few minutes. After drying, the items are carefully finished, with handles and details attached by hand

Once shaped, LOKI Home ceramics are allowed to dry for one week, ensuring they reach the optimal moisture content for firing. Following this drying period, the ceramics are loaded into the kiln and subjected to temperatures of 980°C for two days. This stage initiates a profound transformation: the intense heat causes the clay particles to fuse together, solidifying the form and enhancing its inherent strength and durability. Additionally, during this process, the speckle solidifies and embeds itself firmly within the clay, contributing to the ceramics' structural integrity and unique texture. After the firing is complete, the ceramics undergo a gradual cooling process inside the kiln before being carefully removed for further refinement.

Following firing, each piece is sanded and coated with glaze by hand using our proprietary food-safe transparent formula. Subsequently, they undergo a second firing at 1260°C for two days, during which the glaze vitrifies, creating a durable, food-safe, and waterproof finish. This process also allows the grog to reveal its full color and playfulness.
